German rider Jan Ullrich has been arrested for threatening to forcibly break into the home of one of his neighbors in the Balearic Islands, police said on Saturday.

A police spokeswoman said Ullrich, 44, was arrested on Friday afternoon for “forcibly entering and firing threats” against his neighbor in Palma de Mallorca.

Spanish media reported that Jan Ullrich, German actor and film director Til Schweiger, said the police spokeswoman declined to confirm the report.

No further details were given on the case, but he was informed that Ullrich would be questioned by a judge later on Saturday.

Ulrich was best known for being the only German cyclist to win the French Tour. He also took the gold medal at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.

In 2013, Ulrich was able to show his innocence of doping, a charge that kept him away from France’s cruise in 2006 because of his links to the Puerto Rican scandal, which focused on ousted doctor Ovimiano Fuentes, who used blood transfusions to improve the performance of top riders.
