Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola welcomed the arrival of his countryman Unai Emery to the management of the Arsenal club, stressing that the Basque coach’s course “speaks for itself.”
Emery also earned a tribute to Italian coach Claudio Ranieri, who achieved a miracle with a modest Leicester and led two seasons ago to the Premiership title for the first time in the club’s history.
“He is a great person and a very good coach, he led many teams in Spain and made a good season with Paris Saint-Germain,” said Ranieri.
Arsenal has officially named Emery as the team’s successor to Arsene Wenger, who left the club last week after 22 years at the helm.
