A British court today condemned the captain of France and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lauris for driving his car under the influence of alcohol on August 24 in London.
The court decided to impose a £ 50,000 fine on the 2018 World Cup winner in Russia and prevent him from driving for 20 months.
The 31-year-old was arrested in the Marlibon district of central London, after which tests found that his blood alcohol exceeded the normal limit for drivers, and was transferred to the police station before he was released with bail.
Hugo Lauris admitted to the court that he had twice as much alcohol as he could, and vomit appeared inside his car when the police stopped him, meaning he drank too much.
