Raphael Varane ballon d'or

Real Madrid defender, Raphael varane, believes he deserves the Golden Ball award as the best player in the world after becoming the only winner of the Champions League and World Cup this year.

“I spent a golden season and did my best to be worthy of the golden ball,” Varane said in an interview with “French football” magazine.

Varane is competing with his fellow World Cup Champions in France, such as Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe, but he has refused to talk about a hatred among his compatriots.

“There is no problem between us and the competition is fair on the Golden Ball, and we would be happy if a Frenchman win in any case and whatever his name.”

Meanwhile Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, more than once expressed dissatisfaction with his exclusion from the nominations for the best player in Europe or the Best player award from FIFA.

Especially, after Luka Modric won the two prizes, while Griezmann tried to drive media in his press interviews to get the Golden ball saying it is the prize Most credible.

Few People nominated Raphael Varane for the award, such as his compatriot Michel Platini. And he expressed gratitude for this appreciation, although he was not strongly nominated to win from the masses and media outlets.
