Officially … One Year Suspension for 4 Basketball Players in Japan

The Japan Basketball Association (JFA) has decided to impose a strict penalty on four players participating in the Asian Games in Jakarta.

Japan’s basketball players Takuya Hashimoto, Keita Imamura, Yuya Nagayoshi and Takuma Sato were deported from Jakarta and excluded from the team’s delegation.

The Japanese Olympic Committee withdrew the four-wheeler’s accreditation from the basketball team and were officially deported on 20 August.

The Japanese Basketball Federation announced a 12-month suspension on the four-man squad after they were convicted of spending a night with women at a Jakarta hotel while they were on the 2018 Asian team.

Japan dropped out of the quarter-finals in the quarter-finals after defeating Iran on Monday and will face Indonesia on Friday to finish seventh and eighth.
